    MAF positioning, again

    Hi folks,

Just been searching the forum for stuff to do with MAF positioning, found threads about putting the thing on the pressure side ...but what I am thinking about is a different matter.

What I really want to know is: does the MAF have to be mounted horizontally? Or, can it be mounted vertically, or with the plug and "block" upside down?

Given total freedom of orientation, I am wondering about different ways to mount this thing and feed air more effectively into it and out to the turbo.

    Info appreciated!

AFAIK, most big power guys with it on the pressure side also use a front entry IM, im pretty sure Tom and Dougs were mounted vertically just before the IM.

Given that it measures airflow and the air goes in to the engine at whatever angle i cant see that it would make any difference, its a sealed track so its all got to get from one end to the other regardless

Don´t know about upside down but I have had it both hor. and ver. and both work fine.

I haven't seen any difference of the output signal, at least on idle. Also there was no difference when rotating MAF over horizontal angle.
