HI people i dont get on here much but would be real gratefull if someone could help me out a bit here.

Last night while gettin the better of an M3 down the A1 my 3B decided it blow its head gasket and was wondering if any of you had any thoughts on the replacement one i need?

Should i use original Audi or are after market ones ok? or should i get a special one?
IF it aint broke DONT! fix it

It would be worth checking for the cause of why the headgasket blew as well.....

but I would say if you planning to stay stock then an aftermarket one form say GSF or ECP will be fine.....

BUT// if you plan to upgrade power in the near future, depending on by how much and what means I would get a metal HG from 043efi.com (I think thats the name?) and if you are going for BIIG power then get one that drop the compression ratio a bit

    Good Luck

Use the OEM One made for the RS2! It is the only one available from Audi for 3B, ABY and ADU!
      Go Holset or Go RS4

I agree, the Metal HG is plenty good enough, drops the compression ratio to 9:0:1

          Cheers m8,
not sure on the history of the gasket but i figure its been on the car awhile now cause ive done 50 k in it since i bought it and they have been hard miles for the old girl ha ha.
I am lookin to upgrade soon so the metal one seems like the wise choice i guess.
I wouldnt mind but it was running great too done a few home mods on it but you know how it is.. you can never have enough power ha ha

RS2 metal head gasket and ARP head stud kit. Bit more expensive to buy than the stock bolts but they are a fit and forget, there is no need to ever replace them and it makes fitting a head so much easier.

            Oh and available from me...

Get Victor Reinz gaskets. They're the same as OEM but much cheaper.
P/N 02-29335-01 for the head gasket set. Thanks to Porkkis for that No.

ARP headstuds are on my wishlist, so I'd be interested in a price too.

The one from GSF and ECP are not aftermarket they are Victor Reinz gaskets exactly the same as the Audi ones.

GSF do a complete gasket set part number 11502E which include the exhaust, rocker cover, valve stems, exhaust manifold etc

Dunno if the rocker cover could be made into a metal gasket, it's slotted onto the rocker.

                      Corey?

Do you want a set of push-rods with that rocker cover?
I think you guys mean cam cover. I've got a metal cam cover.
