There is a HUGE o ring between the comp cover and back plate. This is not avialable as a spare part from Audi although it my be from a Turbo specialist.
So mark the comp housing and back plate so that the clocking can be re established, undo the bolts, remove the clamps and start to worry it off gently. Ideally it needs to come off relatively straightly to avoid gouging the inner on the comp wheel!
Depends on how old the turbo is. But the turbine housing is a PITA. It can be removed with difficulty as over the years it becomes rusted in. If you can still see the ring of the centre housing you might get lucky! Again you would need to make alignment marks. Undo the bolts. Often you have limited access. Then you hope it falls off!
Would love to see how the "professionals" do this. I expect they have special tools(big hammers) to do the disassembly!
