    Digi-Tec ECU

    Hi guys,
I have a Digi-Tec ECU laying on a shell for 2 years, I replaced everything before changing the ECU.
I changed the ECU now, but the effect isn't so great, I think I blow a hose...
The ECU is part of my spare engine I have. Do I need to get the Wastegate spring from my other engine?
From the MAP-sensor in the computer comes a wire with a green and brown wire in it. Does anybody knows what this is?

Nero, I have no idea what the wire coming from the MAP sensor is in your ECU, but one thing is sure, if you don't want to end up with a peephole through your block, throw the Digitec **** out of the ECU ASAP!

Those chips are copies of MTM racing chips (just because when Digitec make their own chips, they run like crap, so they had to copy something), that were meant for cars running lower compression ratio, race gas, and most importantly, those chips have no knock sensor function anymore, which means that if one day you have a batch of bad gas, whereas your ECU would be supposed to dial the advance back if knock is detected, with those chips, it won't do anything about it and keep on running full advance. Apart from that, they're meant for bigger than the 3B size of injectors, which means they run very lean. That's why most people love the "Digitec" chips, because of their low fuel consumption....

Be very careful, I've warned more than 10 people about those chips so far and 3 of them who wouldn't believe me all ended up with broken rods or melted pistons.

    Hope this helps,

    Mihnea

      Mihnea,
Maybe I can come to Belgium one day? We can look together than. I have 2 ECUs so maybe you can optimize/rebuild one. Can you control the ECU for example the knock sensor?
Audiparts.nl didn't warn me for any danger, they said that the Digi_tec way of tuning was the same as Wetterauer and it was safe to change the ECU. I didn't buy the computer of them so it wasn't sale-talk.
      Hope you will help me?

      Thanks!

Ooops Nero, just figured I didn't send any replies to your post!

Of course, you can come to Belgium and we'll take a look at what's in that ECU and I'll tell you if it really is a Digi-Tec ECU or whatever it is...

Of course, my mappings always retain the knock sensor functions and you'll never have knock with your engine if I map it.

        Keep me posted!

        Cheers,

On the ECU are some labels of Digi-Tec Germany. I have looked at my spare engine, the ECU was part of that and saw that the wastegate is tampered with. I saw it at the hole in top, there is something between the house and spring. The spare 3b engine should have approx. 265 bhp, and I was told that only the boost pressure was changed.

And off course, I have pulled out the ECU immediatly. ops:

As my S2 is in my garage for the winter, but I tried the ECU and Wastegatespring.

            Right is original.

            Right is original.

            Left is original.

My S2 runs about 1.2 bar (peak)boost and will drop at higher RPM's to about 1.0/0.9 bar on the stock turbo. (is this safe?)

I agree with you Mihnea, it feels like I am on the edge of safety.
The engine becomes warmer, but runs ok.

I had to build it in temporary because a mate had a died (stock) ecu and borrowed my stock ecu for testing.

Mihnea, can you remap my Digi-Tec tampered ECU? I want to keep my stock ECU standard.
Do you need to change all the chips or can you erase the Digi-**** ones?

I recently changed the WGFV and Lambda so the car runs OK, it's time for a real REMAP! But my cars has 200.000 km+ on it. Is it a problem? I have a spare engine in my garage.

I can come to Belgium, no problem.
What are the costs in Euro?

I am also busy with a De-Cat but haven't made the pipes yet. Should I wait with a Remap? When the cats are gone, I only have a damper at the back, the rest is gone. Is that OK?

            Looking forward to your answer!!!
