TDi turbo question/problem

on the risk of an "off topic" threat a question / problem we need help on.

My brother owns a 1999, Seat cordoba with 110bhp TDi that has been chipped to 140bhp (no powerbox, real chip). Now comes the issue:
- on a cold engine and not to high outside temp; the engine give a nice turbokick @ 1800rpm.:mischeif:
- as soon as the engine gets warm or the outside temperature is high, no turbo kick is given.

What can it be????

What we tried as an experiment is put in an open airfilter (from my S2) with cold air feed from outside the enginebay. This made no difference.

Any advice or suggestion is welcome.

try a new MAF , they are always breaking/going the shape of a pear on all TDI's, over reading intake temps on this one i think, they are around £75 exchange
