    Help please, 2 things........

number 1: engine water temperature does not climb above the bottom of the range even when stood at rest. the thermostat has been replaced, so could this mean the sensor is faulty?

number 2: i have a new hybrid turbo fitted, but this has not cleared up the boost problem i have been experiencing. on acceleration the turbo boosts to about 9psi then drops back to 5-6psi. boost hoses need replacing?

thanks in adveance for any help provided

on the second note. it is almost certainly a boost leak somewhere so a leak test is the next check.

Possibly but have you checked the flow through your radiators, do you have good flow through them?

It's possible you might have a bad thermostat even if it's new, i had a couple from audi in the past that weren't any good. if that still doesn't solve the problem then it's either the sender unit or maybe the gauge itself. I have had cold running on both my old 90q20v and coupe 20vq, but never really got to the bottom of the problem, especially in winter would never run at 90degs on the gauge at speed. i put it down to the twin rad set up being a bit too efficient

cool, thanks for the information guys

i have the vag parts intercooler mod on order, and maybe some samco's at some point.
may have to have the sender unit changed next, but if not will the car run rich?

If you check the water temp using the diagnostics with the air con display you can see if teh temp really is low or whether it is just the gauge or sender.
Hold down the re-circ button and hit the temp up arrow button. Can't remember which channel is water temp but from memory I think it is 51.
