    GT3071R internal WG

    Hello!
My brother has been waiting around 3 months for the turbo for his S4, and cause the seller didn't receive K26 flanged hotside from his source he sent us GT3071R .AR64 with T25 flanged internal WG hotside cover.
It will be used with tubular mani on AAN.

So here are some questions for You all:
    1. Do I need to make a use from internal wastegate and forget about original classic audi wastegate? Thought going with original wastegate should be easy - I just need to fix the internal WG cap strongly from outside.
    2. Turbo didn't come with the WG actuator so I need to find one myself - I found a good turbo junkyard and the representative showed me hundreds of actuators - but the problem is that I don't know how strong the actuator should be - there is KKK ones - easy to pull the spring with my hands and there is much stronger ones (I think from Mercedess turbos) that has much stiffer springs and is hardly to pull with hands.
    3. If going internally wastegated is a good option - is there any way to test the actuators for a pressure so I could use the one that's most convenient for GT3071R turbo? I can't test it on the car as most of them are not plug&play for the turbo and should have welded with different flange and bolts hole intervals.
    4. How much pressure should the wastegate handle itself (for AAN engine and 1.8-2 BAR of turbo pressure) w/o the potential of N75 valve? Of course, more pressure will be made from a use of my programmable ECU& controling N75...

Guys- give me some tips Thanks in advance!

You should be able to connect the N75 valve into the actuator i should think.

Might also be worth getting in touch with a local uk distributor who can change the hot side house to one without an internal wastegate.

let me know how you get on since this is a turbo i am considering.

I'm running GT2871R with internal WG on a tubular manifold without any problem with standard N75.

Greg, I'm living in Latvia and there is no distributor that could change the hotside Also ... I don't think the problem is in the hotside - I can live with that - I have Garrett flanges so fitting the turbo isn't a problem.

Gals, where are Your professional opinions about the situation described?

It will be fine with the internal wastegate, mate have no worries

I would prefer an external one but it's not worth changing it as you have the turbo and flange on EM already.

If your retaining the motronics ECU boost control via the WGFV then the actuator does need to be too strong, just strong enough to stop boost creep.

              I'm using 1bar actuator.

Yeah, but , how should I know or measure the actuator's pressure rate? Is it possible to just "weigh the spring pressure with some weight" - LBS and then convert it to PSI/BARS? ? This sounds to me lil bit silly

Like kalsket says, use a 1bar actuator and you can connect the wgfv to the top of it to hold the WG closed to increase boost in a similar way to the external setup

Well ... I have hundreds of actuators - how do I know which one is 1BAR?
