Data on the KKK K26/27/29 anyone

I got an RS2 with some mod. ¨
Verdi rods, Mahle pistons, 7A-chamshaft, SportQ ex-manifoil, MTM innlett-manifoil, SportQ MAF, 3" ex w/no Cats.

The turbo it'a runing, i'm told, is an k26/27/29. thats all I know about the turbo.
It's running at about 1.5-1.6bar. Full presure from about 3500 rpm on 6. gear.

I want more Power, and wondering if I can push my Turbo any futher.

Do anyone know anything about this turbo?

    K26/K27/K29??

I would have expected you to be able to produce more boost than that to be honest especially as you can get 1.4 bar from a K24

    has your car been remapped?

I'd speak to the usual suspects (the forum sponsors)

You can probably run upto 2bar. Tom & doug had a similar turbo fitted but wether it is the same spec is another matter

        OK!
Then maybe I shoud try to get someone to make a new map for me...
I've been thinking about changing turbo to GT3071RS. To get better spoolup. But i'm not sure how big diffrece it makes...
Maybe it's Ok the way it is, if there was more power at high RPM.

          Hi Odd

Santa Claus told me your setup w/current map should be good for about 500bhp@1,85bar. It could be you're not reaching full boost for some reason.

A bigger KKK would give you more power but at later RPM. Modern turbos give a bit of both. I don't think a 3071 would fit your manifold, but Turbonetics makes a hybrid that should.

          Regards,
          Audun

how do you have a k26 bolted to a SQ EM? Ive seen it done before, just curious about how others have done this.

Did Santa Claus tell you anything more about my car?
( PM me if you know anyting. easier in Norsk )

When I got the car it had stock S4 wastgate spring. That only mangaged to reach 1.5bar. Even tried to disconect the hose to the wastegate. (1.5bar)
After changing the WG-spring it now peaks up to 1.8-1.9bar, but just for a sec og two. Then it gives me 1.5isch bar.
Tried to run with TurboXS hi.pref boost controller. But it was dificult to avoid peaking. I even got 2bar+, but it always fell down on high rpm.
But since I did not know what pressure the MAP was designd for i put back the N75 boost controller.

Yes it was of course the hybrid with KKK exaust i was thinging about...
I like the ide of fast spool up of ballbearing turbo's. But are a little worried about that they are easy to destroy

It will do if you buy it with a K26 hotside as is the trend.

A #10 size K26 has the large flange i believe. Also, MTM can deliver their S1 manifold with either K26 or K27 flange. They make their own version of the SQ manifold.

Checked for Fault codes and leaks today. Everything looks fine.
Also checked the bearing in the turbo. I can move the the nut in the end (cold side) aprox. 2mm up and down, and there was even a verry smal slack inn and out. But just as much that I could feel it.
Is this bad, or is this normal on a used turbo?
                    Can this cause lower pressure?
