Engine Oil

I am going to change the oil and filter soon and i am wondering if any of you can suggest a particular oil and filter set up that is best suited to the car.

Does the S2 run the same filter as all other Audi 80s?

I think my motor has been on Audi Synta Silver semi synthetic from new. Is this a good oil to use or am i best off going with another oil?

a good quality fully synthetic like millers oil 10w40 or 10w60 will be absolutely fine, mobil 1 is too thin at 0w40. There are a lot of opinions about oil and a lot of oil threads to peruse.

For oil filter only use the OEM Audi or the Mann filter from GSF (Mann make the Audi filter)


If you car is standard try the 5w40 if it's chipped try the 10w50

i use castrol rs (10-60) and i am very satisfacted with it!
