    Oily residue

Hi i was wondering if it was normal to find a oily residue in the boost pipe that connects the intercooler to the metal boost pipe going to the inlet manifold.

    Thanks in advance.

yes it is nomal! All the way after the MAF is in most of the cases oily due to the Engine fumes. They are getting directed there.

simply move the hose from MAF to turbo and check the shaft for play.

As for the hose you mentioned i check mine since 20000 km and was like this and till now the car still runs just fine.

In engines with higher mileage the gas blow by is higher and it leads to more fumes.

Check your pressure regulating valve isn't full of junk.

clean up the pipes and replace the valve.

The crankcase ventilation system vents hot oil vapour back in to the intake tract so that the vapours are burnt off. This is why you get oil residue in the intake system and oil in the intercooler.

Also, it's why you get an engine bay covered in oily residue when the PCV system dies and the car vents vapour out through the split hoses - BTDT! That's what Newsh and I spent the last couple of weekends repairing on my car - deep oily joy!
