Heater matrix Hose Bleed Valve Question?!

ok guys.........
About to bleed the coolant system before I fire the beauty up again after a period of extended....ahem...maintenance :mischeif:

Noticed the heater matrix hose with teh bleed screw looked brand new so I cautiously undid the screw to check it wasnt going to be a PITA.

Cam e undone with a bit of persuasion but I want to know how the valve actually should work....
because my screw seemd to loosen off but just turns when I tighten it up again.....

Is it a screw fit? Does it unscrew all the way out?
or is it a push fit?

or is it a rotate to close kind of valve?

Just want to know what is what as I have to get the car running tomorrow and dont want any unforeseen problems/ breakages

Sounds like it might have broken actually - this happened to me, the thread just turns and turns and turns... Had to get a replacement matrix hose to fix it - that valve is a complete sod.
