Strange sticky throttle pedal problem .....

Okay just got the car back from the garage after having a bunch of work done to it (SAMCO boost, PCV, Forge DV, WGFV, IC mod) an all is not well

First straight forward issue we think is down to the MAF being shot, no mid range power and slightly lumpy running, given that when the PCV was removed oil poured out and the MAF was very dirty, think it is pretty much dead , all hoses checkded and no leaks,

Second more interesting problem, throttle pedal is not returning fully likewise the actuator at the end of the cable is not returning fully either so RPM is staying around 1500. The garage was looking at the clutch pedal which already had a similar problem but more so ( had this one before the bush at the top of the pedal can break causing it to stick - doesn't affect clutch operation).

So couple of questions, when fitting the SAMCO's could something have been disturbed to cause it to stick, could fitting the forge DV hold the throttle open ?, previous threads have said if too strong a spring is fitted then the rev are held high during gear change. DV was originally fitted reversed and the revs stayed high between changes badly, having switched the DV round problem is not so bad so do I have too strong a spring or is something else ?

    any clues anyone ??

is the throttle cable routed properly? and has the adjustment been put back in the right place on the throttle cable so that the throttle body closes fully?
