I am one of the many unfortunate american members on this board. I am working on my 20v project, and am looking for a 2.5 TDI block to use as a base. Unfortunately, like everything worthwhile, the 2.5 is not imported to the US. Does anyone out there have a lead or an estimated price of a 2.5 TDI block?

Well, i bet that i could get forward air to set up some shipping option. I am willing to pay the price as long as its reasonable, and 400 is very reasonable. I called the local scrappers, and they wanted 1200 for a eurovan motor. I bet i could get the 2.5 TDI here for half that. Speaking of which, is there any big difference between the eurovan and tdi cranks?

Got the block and stripped it apart. Don't have the money to go ahead with the building of a "stroker" the way I want, so I'll just wait a bit for the moment.
Will search for 2.5 AEL blocks among italian scrapers for you if you wish. Cannot assure I'll find some others, but can try.
I think Siena @ VAG Sport has a 2.5 ltr ael block in his garage, it's got my name on it, but I'm some way off having that done, so you never know, Siena may be able to supply you one! He ships engines to the US, they are not that bad price wise to ship and they are quite small, or should I say, it costs more to ship a $300 bumper to the USA than it does to ship an engine!
