7A jerking map?

I have a 7a engined coupe quattro ( 2309cc 20v non turbo). I have a bit of a problem. When I am running at 2800rpm and above and back off the throttle. The car jerks forward, is this Audi trying to map the fuel to cut off quickly for consumption/emissions or have I got the throttle stop badly adjusted?

The car could do with a tune but if it is a map problem it would be better done then.

Can anyone help with a suggestion who could help with a map. I have a spare ECU to play with.

Any idea of costs?

The map has nothing to do with your problem. The problem lies elsewhere by the sounds of it

Only try the other ECU if it is exactly the same part number as yours

I have remembered the correct phraseology.

It is fuel cut off on over-run.

This improves the manufacturers economy figures but not the owners driveability.

I have set the 2 x throttle micro switches as best I can which has improved but not cured the jerk.

I'd say you rather have a problem with a knock sensor or some stuff like that.... doesn't the 7A motor have a throttle pot BTW???

I'd go after an electrical gremlin with a sensor or bad earth maybe. This doesn't sound like a dicky ECU to me. Have never used VAG-COM on the semi-Motronic brain of the 7A engine but it might point to something - try pulling blink codes. There are good 7A specific sites about the 'net eg http://www.20v.org
