So I cracked and gave in. I brought a gauge from Merlin Motorsport and it's fitted. I decided not to destroy one of my vents but to make a push fit block instead. A bit of MDF and metal plate stuck together and then pushed snuggly into the vent slot and it's all done...
Mmmm, only slightly down. It should boost at 12psi or around 0.85 Bar. Most likely you may have a small boost leak, so have a good look around all those hoses and vac. pipes.
