How to take the Fuelpump out!

    Hi people,

I want to take out my Fuelpump from my RS2!
So... I need to take out the plastic device too, witch the fuelpump is assembly!
This plastic device, normaly goes out when we aplly a torque to the left side, but it´s a little bit heavy to make this with the hand!!!

So... normaly how can we do to take that out?

    Thanks,

    Thanks,

If your only replacing the fuel pump you do not need to remove the basket if you are replacing it with a standard fuel pump
eg// meaning you will not need to modify the basket to fit a "different" pump

I did this 2 days ago..

Just remove 14mm and 17 mm size bolts banjo fitting/hose (or 13mm depending on your car/fitment)...undo the connector and pull up say 2cm then twist slightly to pull the fuel pump out

To refit.....make a note of the direction that the hose points in on your old pump and mark the new pump so it will be correct. Swap the wires and the hose over (using the old clip is ok as long as you remove it carefully/////use a tile cutter to re crimp the metal clip). Then aim the pump into the basket and push straight down.
You will feel when it seats correctly into the hole ...and it will not go any further...

Then refit the float carefully and then the locking ring...

          that´s the point!

          twist it hard....
I´m afraid to damage the basket... someone have tried to twist it with a screwdriver? or any else idea??

                  Hello,

The RS2's basket is not the same dimension that the S2's one?
because i m going to changes my s2's pump by a rs2's one, but i only have the fuelpump and not the basket

                  thank you

It works..... I have than just change the fuelpumps.... It´s a little bit difficult to fit the RS2 fuelpump in.. but is not impossible!!!!

Just forget the clips that will hold the pump... They will not reach the RS2, because is a little bit bigger!

                    Chears!

                      ok, thanks.

So the rs2's is a little more bigger or a lot.
Did you have to force a lot to put it in the basket?

                      Thank you.

So... I think that a S2 fuelpump is 2/3 in higher of the RS2 fuelpump....

With calm.... you will be able to do it!!!
