    Stange problem??

    Hi all

Just fitted my forge dump valve on today and it doesn't seem to be making a sound at all. My car has been playing up for a while now. when I let of the throttle its making stange sounds from the airbox.

The car doesn't seem to have any boost leaks and goes really well its just that there is a strange sound from the airbox.

Does anyone know what it could be??

What does the small hose do that connects to the top of the DV.

What could cause the DV not to release the pressure or release it all the time??

Thank, Can someone please help otherwise I'm off up the Audi garage to get them to have a look. And I don't want to be doing that

    dump

the small hose is the vacuum hose, and how hard is the dump valve??
Is your car standard?? is the dumpv. adjustable??

in that case you should go for a softer spring, or loosen the tenssion

This may sounds like a dumb question but have you got it on the right way round?
If not then it won't recirculate properly....

I had this problem when i replaced the stock one to a S3 DV, after taking the original off i couldn't remember what way round to put the replacement on..

      HTH.

      Good luck.

          way

if you put your finger in the valve, where its blocked and you can move it inwards, this goes to the hose that reliefs pressure..

It did the same with my old dump valve.

It seems like there is no pressure getting there or something is making it release all the time.

The car still goes really well it just doesn't sound right at all

Yeah The DV is the right way round, placed it on the same way as the one which come off.

The car is standard, if the vacuum hose had a leak would this make a difference, are these hoses easy to get hold off?? Mine looks a bit old and could have a hole somewhere.

What about the wastegate would this cause any strange sounds at all??

I have a forge DV ... apparantley you can fit them both ways (ie reverse)

It works .. the sound is different... I prefer it in reverse ... nice high pitched "ieeee" sort of sound .... still not too loud

and had no problems with it (apparently its louder when fitted in conjunction with a cone filter)

All fix that stupid vacuum pipe has been driving me mad for ages.

Just went up to Audi and got some, sound has completely gone away and car is running like normal. I so happy its been not running right for about a month now.

The DV still doesn't sound loud at all. I can't even heaqr it slightly I presume it goes on the same way as the old one. With the short bit on the DV connecting to the hose at the bottom and the longer section connecting to the little hose near the WGFV.

                    Am I correct??
