Forge Dump Value Sound?

Hi all

With the forge dump valve is it meant to give one big dump of pressure when letting of or not.

On mine it gives a nice swooshing sound and lets off quite quietly is this correct.

Don't get me wrong it does sound nice its just I was expected more of a release when letting off?

A 'quiet woosh' sounds correct for a Forge Diverter Valve.

A 'Dump Valve' will give a much louder 'Psshhh' sound as it vents to atmosphere.

a recirculating dump valve is quiet because it vents back to the inlet mani,....(the swoosh!)

a dump valve that vents to atmosphere will make a load "psssst"...and waste boost IMHO also

My recirc valve is not that quiet but then I do have a cone filter too.

It's not su much "wasting boost", more the fact that a load of air already measured through the MAF sensor suddenly leaves the system, causing the car to temporarily overfuel.

So am I right in saying that the Forge DV makes a continous sound which increases with more revs and lets off a nice swooshing sound. Not like something you find on some boy racer car.

no, it will only make a sound as you change gear/close the throttle.

I replaced my Baily dump valve for a recirc, that gives a quiet swoosh and you get a chirp from the wastegate. Much better than the rs turbo pssshh!!

Mine makes a sound all the time when the turbo is in.

Its the 006 Forge DV

Should it only make a sound when changing gear because mine is really quiet when changing gear

does the S1 use the same dump valve as the rest of the S2/RS2?could i buy a dump valve from audi intended for the sport quattro from somewhere?If not which is the closest recyrc dump valve that sound as the S1 valve?

I dont really like to hear any big noise,only subtle one

Sport Quattro dump valve is different from all other models. Bizarrely you can't order one without full chassis number details.

You can order any other SportQuattro parts in the normal way. This is the only part I know of that has to be manually ordered. Are they really that special?

Has anyone seen/got one? or a chassis number so I can get a manual order raised

i have a video of a sport quattro doing some rounds off a track and it sounds AMAZING!!!i dont know the specs though and surely dont know if they can be used on our cars...

found a cut off valve on ETKA with part number: 034 145 710 which is of the engine KW.It says it is only for this sport quattro model.

KW found that is the sport quattro with the 306hp
