How do they do the cam sensor pickup? I noticed on my 93AAN there is a piece bolted to the front of the head, and on the 94ABY its a cast part of the head. How would you go about modifying a 7A head for that

          Hi!

Well you are in luck then. All you would have to do is take the AAN head down to a machine shop and have them duplicate the position of the bolt holes. Is is sort of positioned over the date identification circle? Seems the early AAN and ABY used these. As Wab as said, if you have a pattern it shouldn't be a problem for a reasonably competent machinest to duplicate. Apparently MRC can do this although I don't know how much it costs.
On another point. I think Mark H might have been talking about the head he collected for me. It was from a engine shop and has obviously been worked in the combustion chamber area, presumably to repair the common cracks. Just had a quick look at this. Are you sure you aren't mistaking the casting seperation line for a crack. It sort of swoops up into that area and at first glance could be mistaken for a crack. If you haven't done it already, might be policy to clean it up thoughly and double check before consigning it to the scrap bin!
