    Coil packs

when you buy now coil packs do you get the full wiring with them too or do you have to make do with the old wires unless you spend more on new wires separately?

Just so you know, there is a conversion to 1.8t coil packs (also replaces the OE Power Output Stages) as a DIY or plug and play (034efi or Apikol) - for a LOT less money.

£235 the lot and no POS needed either. does it come with instructions? and if so are they easy to follow.

has any one run the 034 conversion for any length of time yet?

I presume all this is ok to use with the standard platinum spark plugs?

            Is the £235 inc VAT?

how soon can these 034 coils be ready for despatch? are they off the shelf numbers

Personally, I like to think of it as the Dave F. conversion seeing as I developed the DIY version well before 034 brought anything to market.

Lots of people have 5000 to 7000 miles on the conversion. One fellow in the States who followed my instructions has 11000 miles on the conversion - running UNDER the OE coil cover (but with No.5 coil pack facing towards the front of the engine). And this is a 445 whp car in Colorado.

Corey got 7000 miles with a 034 kit under the OE cover before No. 5 (pointed to the back of the engine) died.

OE spark plugs (F5DPOR) are correct.

would these packs come with a warranty as 7000 miles before a failure seems a bit low to have to keep replacing the coils

The failure only came about due to the extreme heat of the coil pack cover being fitted, I wanted to see what the time scale was with my own kit.
The kits come with full instructions.
They are perfectly reliable to use if you do not fit the coil pack cover over them.

i see. obviously the heat is not such an issue with std factory coils. what causes the heat difference? is is that the std coils offer less voltage and so less heat? what voltage does a std coil offer? compared to the 034 upgrade?

is the price £235 inc VAT and have you got them to sulpply at short notice or do you need to order then from the US?

The stock coils use the coil pack cover as a heat sink, they are bolted to it. The 115 series coil was never designed to be undercover, it sits out in the open on every stock (1.8T) engine it is fitted to from the factory.
All my prices include VAT, some (like the coil conversion price) inlcudes delivery also (mainland UK), I do not carry stock as it allows me to keep my prices lower.
I would expect them to arrive within 5-10 days from your funds clearing, although the last 2 sets I had ordered took 4 weeks to land due to the demand the factory was experiencing. They have over come this now and have a good supply.

I hope that answer's your question? I look forward to your order

                        thanks Corey

whilst i am on the subject can you confirm whether these new 115series give more voltage than the std factory S2 coils?

I just got my highly professional looking kit from Apikol (www.apikol.com)

No doubt 034 has an equally professional kit but Brendan at Apikol whipped one up for me in a day as I was in distress.

034 quoted 2 weeks at best at the time. Brendan at Apikol overnited parts in to get mine done asap.

                            Freaking sweet kit either way.

and what then... is it possible to buy only one coil from 034?

number five coil is at the flywheel engine side? what it's about direction?
better air flow under the OE coli cover when facing towards the front?

do you have pictures of these coils fitted onto the engine?
