I did a group purchase a while ago, but only 3 people bought.

The benefits is a denser charge, you can advance timing by a few degrees due to the cooling effect, offsets detonation, keeps internals of the engine nice and clean.

The only drawback is if the car is set up or mapped for it it will not be wise to run out of water.

By the way, I am a great believer in water injection.

If anyone is interested on a group purchase I can arrange it.

It is wise to use the windscreen washer bottle as a reservoir, as it a) makes a neater install and b) it tells you when it is running low.

It also add a little bit more fuel as screen wash contains alcohol that can be taken into considertion when mapping

so you are saying that by using the same container and not changing the screen wash ingredients you can add a water cooling injection system? How often do you need to replace the water? How fast does it use it?Do you have to remap your car after you use such equipment?

I wouldn't do that as your car then becomes illegal as you can be fined for having non function windscreen washers.

People have been shopped for this before by the cops.

The idea is to use the reservoir for both the washers and the water injection. The low level warning will come on and tell you when you need to fill up, exactly the same as normal (no need for non functioning washers). As Aelred says you'll get a bit more ooomph out of the screen additive too.

                      Come on keep up,

Of course you would still use it for both

I was told you shouldn't do that bad idea as you should use methanol in the water injection mix not windscreen washer fluid!

                          From the Aquamist site

                          4. Would screenwash additive damage the aquamist pump?
Our water pump is safe with most forms of alcohol. The screen additive normally contains a mixture of 5% detergent, 5% glycol and up to 50% of alcohol (methanol, ethanol or iso-propanol), the rest is water.

Or there is always the charge cooler route

why bother with a charge cooler, you have the added weight and complexity of the system, when a huge intercooler works better. IMHO
