    E-manage Ultimate Piggyback Computer

    Greetings everyone,

I am thinking about buying and instaling greddy ultimate piggyback to my car.

On my previous car, I used SAFC and on my brothers car Octavia 1.8t we installed greddy e-manage, but only thing we couldt do is to get it work with 1.8t ignition system. so he uses it without ignition control.

when surfing through the web, i have seen Bimmer guys installed e-manage to an obd1 bmw.

    topic is here http://forums.bimmerforums.com/forum...d.php?t=377718

all the e-manage (bluebox and ultimate versions) info could be found here http://www.mohdparts.com/emanage/

I currently have an e-manage and 3 bar map sensor at home, but i am thinking of selling it and buying an ultimate e-manage. this is a very nice piggyback, very complicated.

As ı understand bimmers use 12v ignition output, whereas e-manage can cotrol 5v output, so the guy made some tweaks to the ecu. I think our problem in vag 1.8t engine was similar, and probably I will have a similar problem with rs2 ecu.

I am not an electronics expert, and I really need some info on our ignition outputs at the ecu(pin numbers, 5v/12v) if possible, input andf utput differences at the pos channels.

I know motronic is a highly sophisticated ecu, and very good failsafe measures, but it not tunable by me, and there is nobody I trust at my country to tune my car.
I have LM-1 wideband controller, and i am planning to get an egt meter.

Turkey is full of ******** technicians and tuners, they can even plug the hose between wg and n75 in order to eliminate limp home boost drop, but thats an other story.

    any help
    Cheers

    Murat

It certainly one way around it, are you sure you have the expertise to undertake the task?

electronically, no. i dont really know electronics,

but as i said previousy, i worked and connected these to 2 cars, and i believe i can do it. also i can get some help from electronical engineers i work together with
      Cheers

acrtually i have found information about our ignition system. maybe it helps to someone.

our ecu outputs 5v ignition signal to POS. pos takes the 5v input and sends 12 to the coils.
        Cheers

Would it not be simpler to get a standard MRC upgrade ??

I'm not getting what information you are looking for? Are you sure, that you can handle that information if it will be provided to you?

I'm asking, because your discovery of ignition POS usage looks kind of strange for a person familiar with car electronics...

i am not familiar with electronics but have some expreience from my old cars. i have electric knowledge. so i will try to hook up ignition. i am currently sorting out which inputs and outputs to use in e-manage harness.

hooking up piggyback units is a thing i had done and i can. but in case if there is need for electronic modification in ecu, i cant do that. most cars are pretty much same.

as i said injectors will not be a problem but maybe ignition will be a problem.

does anyone know if 1-2-4-5-3 is the correct firing order?

is there any diagrams for adu ecu pinout?
                Cheers

Your explanation of how the POS works is wrong. The input part is fine but what happens after that is wrong. I suggest you have a read of this, from my UrS4/S6 FAQ page on Audiworld:

The ECU (engine management computer, with the aid of a signal from the crank position sensor (and cam position sensor during starting)), sends a 5 VDC (or so) signal to the respective channel on one of the POS's, Inside the POSs, there three transitorized swithes that, when triggered by the ECU's 5 V signal, send the 12 V current FROM the Primary coil to ground (through pin 2/4). With the "gate" open for current flow through the primary coil, this rush of current in the primary coil, "excites" the secondary coil which in turn produces a high voltage current that rushes to the nearest way out, which in this case is the spark plug.
yeah that was the definition i found.
i read it wrong i think. since i need 5v ignition signal i will not play with after pos link.

                      thanx dave
                      Cheers
