2 Stage Boost

Does anyone know whether its possible to run two stages of boost: one which produces around 270hp for cruising and another around 330 for cruising a little quicker?

Sal, yes that is possible and it is in the works. Maybe Steve H will be the first to experiment that in his S2 if so he wishes, I dunno yet. But anyway, it involves more than just 2 boost stages, fuel and timing need to be taken care of too actually so both versions are optimal for the boost level one is running respectively.

Ant, I am now doing Motronics for a living, I used to be a sales rep until 2 months ago but I've lost my job so now I'm concentrating on what used to be my hobby....

I have learnt all I know by spending outrageous amounts of money but my biggest satisfaction is to know my customers are happy with my own work.

Initially I wasn't intending to make a business of all this but gradually as I had to invest more and more money, I also thought that I could get some of my research money back by providing other people with the results of my research, meaning providing them with (what I think is) a good quality product for less money than big names do and in certain cases of much better quality or at least equal quality with the best around.

2 Stage chips? i've only heard of RICA doing this on Volvo's when thye had a superb 4 stage chip for the 850 T5.

What hardware would you need on the engine to accommodate a 2-stage boost system? Is this only for those with a big turbo and other associated mods?

Anyone who gets there car custom mapped by Mihnea caould have these done, but it does require two sets of maps, so that means more money.

I'll be testing this when my car runs again - hopefully this weekend.

It is not just for a GF mode. I have 2 sets of chips just now - one with high advance but lower boost and one with higher boost but lower advance - they give out much the same power but feel different.

It is a very good idea for when you are using high octane fuel or for when you can't get optimax.
