    Nothelle modded exhaust manifold?

Ok! Using my limited translation skills (Nothelle gemacht wurde), I think this is a pic of a Nothelle modified exhaust manifold. Interestingly they only reworked No5!
    Bit of a curosity!

      I QUOTE THIS ,

NOTHELLE SAYS THE SHAPE OF HTE PASSAGEWAYS IN THE STANDARD MANIFOLD DO NOT ALLOW A SMOOTH ENOUGHT FLOW THROUGH THE TURBO
TO OVERCOME THIS THEY GET A STANDARD MAINIFOLD AND CUT AWAY THE METAL BETWEEN THE FLANGES FOR CYLIDER HEAD AND TURBOCHARGE THEN STAINLESS STEEL IS SHAPED AND WELED BETWEEN THE FLANGES TO GIVER MORE EFFECTIVE FLOW.

an i always thought it was nigh on impossible to weld stainless to normal metal with out problems..

        Yep!
I have read that Nothelle "modified" the manifold by welding bits of pipe in. Guess I was expecting it to have both the doglegs removed. That way it would ressemble the RS2 one. Think they were doing this before the RS2 manifold would have been available.

Having had a closer look, I can't see the parting line of the casting on that side. So I guess that 4 and 5 are stainless and the join looks like a slip joint to me. You can see the weld around the flange on No 5.
