S2 Probs

Wonder if you can help me, I have just bought a audi s2 avant it currently has a powertec boost valve fitted when i boot it it cuts out nearly throwing me through the front window!! i have been told it needs a boost chip is this right?? if so where can i get one from?? and how much? also where can i get some s2 matts?? thanks rik

Not 100% sure what a PowerTec valve is, but it looks like some kind of manual boost controller - a very crude way of getting more power that also disables a lot of the safety features built into the engine management. My advice would be to remove it immediately and reconnect the standard wastegate control solenoid (WGFV).

The reason that the car is suddenly cutting out is that the boost is simply going too high. The ECU cuts power in a last ditch attempt to try and save the engine from going pop.

Consider binning/eBaying the boost valve and getting a proper ECU remap as a much safer way of getting more power.
