PLease Help Me! BIG Problem from SparkPlugs changing.

Oh no this is so bad....
Please help me with soem advices on what I can do.
I went to change spark plugs on my Avant S2 just last nite and when doing 3rd one I by accident dropped small bit of cloth down spark plug hole

It was taped on to wood stick and I had used it to clean threads on spark plug holes...but tape got catched on edge slightely and this pulled cloth off
I cant believe this. So easy job I have done many times but now I have big problem!!!
What the hell can I do??
I put straight thin stick of metal in to try and retrieve but I cannot find it tho late at nite here am going to try again in morning.

Please give me your expertise and advices on this problem..I need car to work to make living and pay all bills. I cannot afford for engine stripdown.

Must cloth still be in combustions chamber? Is there anywhere it cud fall from where it has dropped?
    What are my options..please help

I was think of buying grabber typeof piece with long metal shaft and claw end. but if cloth has gone too far??

    So bad

If you haven't cranked the engine after you lost it it should still be on top of the piston. The grabber sounds like a good idea to me.
Use a flashlight, turn engine (not with key) until the piston on the cylinder in question is almost on top.You should be able to see then.

      Thanku my friend.
No. I most certinly did not try and start engine!!

How would be best way to turn engine with engine off. Do i need to remove all plugs to release compression and put into gear and roll forward?

Should this be ok for engine if cloth come out?
Piston seems mayb halfway down bore travel at minute..
      I cannot believe this

What is worst case result?? That I must have cylindr head removed? all for this piece of cloth?

      1000 thanks

Yes,take out the plugs, but don't roll the car in gear. The piston can easily pass the top and you can't control it.
Can you get to the crank bolt in front and turn the engine?Turn clockvice until piston comes up.You might have to turn a full turn incase the piston is on the down stroke but turn clockvice so the bolt does not come loose.(It should'nt but just to be safe)

If you get the piece out then you can install plugs and go for it

How big is this cloth piece by the way?I would almost be tempted to start if you cant get it out if it's just a very small soft piece. It's only passing the valves and turbine which is the worry really but that could be a big risk to take if the piece is big. Then you might get more damage but if it's just a small soft piece it should pass without damaging anything
Make every effort you can to get it out before concidering starting.

There is probably more people on the forum who can give better advice regarding starting with the piece inside but to me it sounds risky and yes then head removal is the only way.
Anyway,I think you will get it with the grabber.Good luck

Get the missus' J. Edgar hoover--sorry vacuum cleaner and a bit of hose which is small enough to go into the hole but not so short as to loose that aswell, tape it onto the end of the cleaner tool pipe using lots of ducting tape and suck out the cloth, it should pull it out no problem, even, if it is too big for the pipe you put in it should still grab hold of it enough to pull out, and whether piston is up or down (preferably down so you can get into the corners). The most dangerous part about this is the missus finding out
