Cooling System Problem

My rad fan seems to be kicking on and off every minute when sitting in traffic.

No visible leaks, temp is normal (according to the gauge).

This is far more often than it ever used to kick in.

In addition, I have noticed that contrary to my previous experience, almost immediately the fan kicks in, I can hear another relay go, the voltage drops right down, idle rpm drops about 300rpm almost stalling the motor, and the fan goes up a gear.

I didn't know the fan had two speeds?

Any suggestions?

Thermstat recently replaced.

Gauge has acting a bit odd recently.

It stays at zero until randomly, it'll swing up to operating temp. Sometimes this might be 20 mins after you've commenced a journey.

With regards to the temp guage, I found that when I cleaned the connectors in the loom for this the problem ceased. just my experiance with it by the way.
