    Aux Rad Recoring

After nearly having a heart attack at the price of a new aux rad through all the usual sources (no blame attached) and being unable to source one via GSF i decided to investigate having one recored.

A company in Birmingham called "Readyrads" took the job on with a 1 day turnaround. I need to provide my old rad.

Picked it up this lunch time and i've got a virutally new rad, i cannot tell the difference between that and a new item.

Gob smacked! i'll post pictures when i get home.

Cost me £79, i seen cheaper at £40-50 but they don't last to long (the one on the Avant was recored 2 years ago and is now leaking)

Was recommeneded to me by the ovlov mob, and they demand quality my friend has been running a recored rad from them for 5 years now.

Went to pick it up with my MK 4 mate and he said "no way is that the same rad"

IIRC I paid £130 for a VAG aux rad from VAGparts...

          Sounds good Jamo.

          How's the GTI running?

          Cheers,

GTI needs a bit of TLC here and there and a good detailing clean bought a few bits and bobs for it already

I need to sort out some ICE in it before i can drive it, only one speaker works!

Still running around in the Coupe at the moment

Three cars! I like your style.

LMAO @ you not driving it until you have ICE!

I am slowly working on Anna's Sport Edition before I unveil it. So far it has had a Clifford alarm fitted, I am fitting a Kenwood CD player tonight, removed the shockingly ugly grill spoiler and last remaining mud flap. Given it a quick polish and the speedlines will be picked up at the weekend.

I will then me a motor.

              Cheers,

              Fatty.

I've used this company recently to recore an aux rad for Graham in OZ. Had one done, shipped it and Parcels2fookinGo lost it Have had to source another and get that done. A1 service from these people, they even picked it up and dropped it off at my door.
                        £65 all in.
Previously used a company in Darlington to recore my old cq20v aux rad, but I don't think they are there now. It lasted a good 6 years as I then used it on my 2.3e Coupe.
Was still going strong until she was written off.

GFS dont sell the S2 Aux rad, they sell the standard Coupe one which is shorter than the S2 one.

TBH there's a quite a few companies that will recore rads as long as the end tanks are good but most members will just blank of the rad. I did on the Coupe but i want one on the Avant.

Jas11n has posted up another option better price just a bit far away from me
