    ECU Connector Cleaning

    Hi all

Went to MRC to get my car look at and have been told I need to clean the contacts for the ECU. As when we took it out and placed it back in the car wouldn't even start!

Does anyone know the best way to do this, I have used sandpaper on the male connecters and it has improved the way the car runs alot, just wondering what the best way is to clean the female connectors.

Also is there any stuff I can buy to make a better connection?

    Thanks

    Ian

Spray them in IPA maybe..... (Iso Propyl Alcohol) or go to Maplin and buy another type of contact cleaner

a product call DeOxit from Caig labs. i did my ecu and whole harness.. It cleans and preserves contacts. Also improves conductivity. They sell it here in the USA at radioshack, and ebay. Also, audi techs use it on high end stuff. made by Caig Labs. search the web. good stuff.
