Haven’t heard from David yet so I’ll give him a quick call and let him know about all this, we had planned on meeting up for another bash on Saturday so it would be great if you guys could make it over. I'll leave that upto David to confirm incase he cant make it. It might just be something really simple we missed.
I have a complete ABY engine in parts and our urS4 so spares is not a problem, no harm in having a few cars to borrow bits off though. The more eyes and hands the better.
We might actually get the first Irish meet going after all

Thank you to all so far for taking an interest in the car. I've just spoke with Mark this lunchtime and I would be keen to meet up at Mark's house this coming Saturday 28/10/06, as early as he dares nominate, as he has all of the necessary "spare" parts, and I know he'd be keen to meet up with Paul re the Samcos.
So the more bods the better. I will change the temp sender at the back of the block this evening, in advance of the Saturday meet. I think I have some old Mk 2 Golf ones at my house, I am presuming they would be the same, or if not still better than a broken S2 one???
Thanks again and look forward to meeting whoever is free to meet up at Mark's house this Saturday morning?
I'd ordered a new water temp sender for the back of the block about a week ago so when I checked with the local VAG dealer on the way home, it had come after a "VOR" period of 4/5 working days. I fitted it this evening and it definitely made a positive difference, came back after a short drive and also replaced the MFTS and the Air Temp sensor, which had also been ordered (desperation), no further advantage gained, but the overriding fact is now that it is still missing on at least one of the 5 cylinders, (#3), and is not great on #2 also.
Never switched these coil packs around, as the connections looked too brittle to mess with, without some sort of spare coil packs to hand.
Anyway looking forward to trying out the MAF, Coil Packs and Ingnition Modules this coming Saturday at Mark's house.
After all of this grief and expense it will problably the coil packs and the water temp sensor at the rear of the block? Although the new lambda probe was an improvement, as was the new ISV.
At least I've learnt a lot, but not really the way I or my pocket wanted to.

Paul would you have a wiring diagram for the coilpacks? I'd like to double check its all wired correctly as we had a bit of confusion when the two white plugs got mixed up. My spare set of coilpacks and POS units had no effect but its worth checking it all again.
Cheers,
Mark.

Did you clear the faults in VAG-COM after fitting the new parts already.

After offering use of my car, unfortunately I won't be able to make a meet on Saturday. Off on a last minute break to Brussels for the long weekend.
I would be up for it another time or the following weekend...
Hope it's a problem with the electrickery and not an internal valve/compression problem. Intrigued
Looking forward to this on Saturday, appreciate your time and effort. Mark, when you are in a position to specify a time that suits you, please text or phone me, thanks!
Thanks again to Mark for the location and Paul from coming down from the North, ( with the same amount of equipment as main dealer), ironically one of the smallest pieces of equipment diagnosed the problem, a cylinder compression tester.
It is either a blown head gasket or a cracked head, Cylinders 1 and 5 were approximately 12/13 and the middle three cylinders 2, 3, & 4 were less, about 6/8. Paul may remember the more exact figues?
So either way, it is off with the head to see if it is a blown head gasket or a cracked cylinder head? The oil and the water have not mixed???
