    Missing Part

Can anyone help me i've just been looking @ some pics of engines & have discovered that i'm missing a part on my s2 avant aby?

It's missing the y piece bracket & valve or diapham that sits on top of the intake manifold by the accelerator asembley. can anyoune tell me what it is cos i have never had this since i bought it a year ago, but the car is running fine?

I think it's a damper for the throttle or something?

If it's any use? I don't know, because my car runs fine without it..

Yeah, it's a damper to stop the throttle closing too quickly. I believe it helps to smooth out the throttle transition at low revs. May help in stop-start town traffic.

cheers, that's the kiddy. i did notice that sometimes when you take your foot of the pedal @ low revs in town it's a bit jerky.

              are these bits expensive?

                IIRC this part is called a throttle dashpot, p/n 034 133 283.

You can get used damper from 10v turbos, or VW DOHC (at least 1.8, 2.0 engines).

I've already posted somewhere on the forum the family album pic for the throttle body.

IIRC i dont think it's a seperate part!
