    tightening torgues

    hello again

i seem to have conflicting numbers about some tightening torgues for certain vital parts of the engine.

The flywheel bolts nuts torgue are?

the cylinder head bolts to the engine block are?

the tightening torgue for the vibration dumper is?

i would be grateful if i could have some figures. It seems that on 3B engine the torgue for the vibration dumper is 350Nm while on ABY is 200NM+180 degrees. What is for the RS2??I had read somewhere that it is 400Nm !!! is it true?

    cheers!
(my car is the RS2,ADU engine)

For the Vibration Damper if you use the VAG 2079 Tool (Special long tool) you go for 350 NM.

-If you dont use the 2079 Tool then you go for 450 NM. With ordinary Tools you go for 450 NM.

-For the Flywheel bolts i see 30 NM + 90 Degrees (Please Correct if Wrong)

    -Cylinderhead Bolts with Cold engine:
    Step 1: 40 NM
    Step 2: 60 NM
    Step 3: 180 Degrees (or 2X90)

    Row for Cylinderhead Bolts:
    Go Holset or Go RS4

What fasteners are you using for the head, OEM stretch or ARP studs?

I heard 30nm without 90 degrees for flywheel, always tighten them 40nm because my tool doesn't measure down to 30
