Hi,
Completelly lost with my low boost problem, I've did a search in my garage, and discovered few WGFV's. Started to try them one by another, by blowing through one hose, with battery connected and disconnected. During proces I've discovered interesting (at least for me) thing - "open" ends of the WGFV (with power disconnected) are not equal. In short, no matter that audi in the drawings show that "open" ends are connected all the time, in one direction pressure falls faster, than in another (turbulence ?
). So if you are not lucky ant connect turbo hose, and wastegate to the wrong ends (like me), then tired old engine/turbo is not able to pass 0.4 bar limit, because wastegate slightly opens and everything loops up
.
My solution was trivial - swapped hoses (small ones) and YEEHAAA!
. Same to the "damn" limit of 0.4 bar, and absolutely different things after. Kick instead of dying, and 1 bar overboost
. Don't know if this works on S2, but definately worked on my AAN. Threw away bleeder valve, and chipped ecu (desperate things to make car go, none of which worked perfectly).
So, conclusions - Boost from turbo always comes to the top pipe, Intake goes to the long pipe, and wastegate goes to what's left. NO OTHER options allowed
.
