Hi I have been having problems with my 1991 3b for some time, all on a previous thread [Hi idle slight missfire] I fitted a new n75 wgfv, and took it for a run, from cold this is for no more than 3 to 4 miles on country roads. I did'nt put my foot down until 90deg ,when I got back the fan was running, I took a look under the bonnet and saw that the exshaust side of the turbo was glowing redhot, this is in daylight.
Has anyone any ideas what would cause this.
Many thanks Lou
There is good fuel pressure, the turbo, turbo oil lines ect; were all checked when I had the engine rebuilt 3000miles ago. like jamo said I think its a symptom of some other problem. I have recently replaced the disstributor, could this be connected in any way.Is it any thing to do with my idle problem or the missfire, I dont know. Could a boost leak cause this.I am currently waiting for a set of samcos from paul, so I am stuck with what I haveuntil they arrive. The car has never run well since I had it, I have an s6 avant, and it flies, but never the 3b,I have bills for over £20000 before I bought the car, and I must have spent a few thousand.
I know that you had a lot of running issues with your car Dan, so you know what its like,Its very frustrating owning one of these wonderful cars, and you cant make it go.
Anyway enough of my woffaling on, thanks for your help i'll just keep trying to find an answer Many thanks Lou
