I have a 20v 90 that i was going to take to coombe tomorrow and abuse but having a few problems getting it started.I do know there is a tooth missing on the flywheel, but have checked everything i can think of and the only thing left is whether the sensor that goes through the bellhousing area is giving a false signal because of the missing tooth.Any ideas?
You have answered you own question, the ecu cannot see engine speed and it is confusing itself as it should be counting a certain number of teeth but it isn't due to 1 being missing.
James, could be you're missing the flywheel pin that the timing sensor is looking for. Pull the starter motor out and crank the engine over by hand, you should see the pin pass the starter apeture.
when i bought the car a few days ago i knew there was something wrong with the starter, took it out and it had broken into 2 pieces. On closer inspection a tooth was missing, was hoping it would hold together for coombe but never mind.
