I've plotted the power curves from Interpro and Weston to show the differences that a boost leak check with new S3 DV, modified airbox and new exhaust have made. The runs were done in 3rd (Weston) and 5th (Interpro), hence the torque coming in later on the Weston plot.
The area of note is the top end flow which I assume is down to the freer flowing exhaust and possibly slightly due to the airbox.
Yeah but no different to you doing a long full boost from low revs on the road.
Ive been to a lot of dyno's and with turbo cars you just cannot load them enough in a low gear - normally aspirated fine but turbo's not a chance.
Id be feeling a bit short changed to be honest as when i take my car somewhere for them to run up on the rollers id want to know they got everything out of the car (yes safely) that it could produce and i dont believe using such a low gear can do that torque wise anyhow.

The load on the dyno was higher than road load for the gear used. My car did 1.5 Bar peak when in general it only peaks at 1.45 on the road and only goes above that in 6th gear up a hill...

This run was done about 8 months ago, car should have had a remap before the run.
The run was in 4th gear.

Were you there to make that comment? or spoke to western to why they did it in 3rd gear?
I challenged them over this prior too arranging the event and i dont think you'll find anybody who actually ATTENDED the event has a problem with their results.

Feel free not to attend the next one
Drop the attitude Jamo - not the first time you've jumped down my throat now is it????...
If you read the post carefully you will notice that Andy states his torque curves were totally different hence me stating i found it strange the car was run up in such a low gear.
I don't need to be there to assertain from the info in front of me that the car was not loading up to the same degree at low rpm's that it would do in a higher gear.
Yes you might hit peak boost at high rpms and pull the same peak hp but you will not get peak torque running through in such a low gear.
Obviously you dont like people having a different opinion to yourself on here Jamo - funny i thought this was a forum whereby people were aloowed to express their opinions and experiences no??

No i dont like your attitude your new on here and saying people were short changed for their moeny on the Rolling Road
If you been there you would know you actually had a choice what gear your car was run in and what difference and why they choose to run in 3rd gear by default.
Infact virtually anthing you wanted could have been accomidated as they let you sit in the car when it was on the Rollers with the engineer explaining everything in real time.
Ah right - so because im new im not alowed to voice an opinion??
Obviously experience counts for nothing merely how long youve owned your car and how high your post count is.
Ill remember that in future Jamo - thanks for letting me know.
thanks again
Pete.
