Hello guys. After my suspected blown head gasket at castle combe on my ABY the head is now off. The only problem is that there is no break in the head gasket. Does this mean that i have a cracked head? Any advice welcome. Also where is the best place round the guildford area to get my head skimmed and pressure tested? If it is a lost cause where is the best place to source a 2nd hand head? Not sure if a 7a head would fit fit because of the difference in ignition set up. eg aby has no dizzy and 3B does?
IF you have the sandwitch oilcooler P/N 068 117 021 B or BX or PN 078 117 021 A between the oilfilter and oilhousing on the block( with two waterhoses on) THE item may have same problem like the cracked headgasked( oil in the expandertank) and oilconsumtions....
There was no oil and water mixing on Ross's car. The coolant expansion tank was pressurising, and the coolant smelt like fuel after the engine had been run.
I believe white smoke was coming out the exhaust before it stopped.
There is an independent audi garage on the slyfield Ind Estate...cant remember the name but they did some work on my car a few years back and were great. They used to advertise in Audi Driver, may still do but as my subscription has ended cant say for sure. I think they are something like A H Automotive? may be able to help or point u in right direction locally
