Of course that is unless anyone has a 3B lump sitting about? Just the bottom end would do cause i can get the head sorted anyways. Please anyone with anything, it's been over a year since ive driven the car and I need to get the car back on the road!!!!

        You have a few options,

        1) use the aby block with your 3b head, flywheel and crank pully. Just a bolt together job, only catch is you should balance the bottom end if your changing flywheel from another engine.

        2) Complete aby setup with head, coilpacks etc. That would require ecu, wiring loom etc.

Its a pretty major job going from 3B to ABY... Option 1 above is the path of least pain - and I'll bet mcandmar has made an offer for the ABY head in that case ! LOL

If going Option 1 then deffo keep the 3B flywheel - its lighter and will work best with your 3B clutch and 01A gearbox with no further mods... But yes it is worth getting it properly balanced...

Steve, with the red S2 at Castle Combe has a complete ABY engine for sale from an avant still in the car so it can be heard running. He is not a forum member but if interested I can forward details and contact number.

Or use the engine and go standalone ecu on it, coil per cylinder and all the benefit's but you can map it yourself should you wish.

Hmmmm a few options then, though will have to look at the costs of each as at the moment i just want the car running and i will use my old engine for a project. Thanks for all the help.
Will let you know how i get on and depending on my bank manager.
