As some of you will know, I broke down on the way to the Weston Performance RR day. It turns out that when I replaced the main rad the day before, the increased pressure caused the plastic housing on the back of the block to crack, the effects of this materialised on the A38 near Bassets Pole island. The oil pressure started to drop and the oil temperature started to rise although the water gauge looked bang on if not cool. As I approached the island, oil began to pump out of the exhaust and the engine began to rattle just as I pulled into a layby.
At this point I was fairly worried
, but I let the engine cool down and noticed the lack of water and then the leak at the back. After 2 hours my brother turned up with some water and we filled it up and cranked it, it ran fine, oil pressure back up to full, temps ok, it all looked good.I knew however that there must be more to it than that so I ran it home and parked it up until I could get it in to my buddies garage. He ordered a new water housing and that was replaced with a bit of a struggle. As we filled the system back up with water it just wouldn't bleed through and was under a lot of pressure, at this point loads of white smike pumped out the back anf the head gasket blew
Anyway, the heads come off today and I'm, droppin it off to another mate who runs a head specialists for a skim, polish, new guides and seals, so it should all be good at last

Decided to get toasted instead, on it first thing in the morning though
