Will 7A pistons and rods work?

As the title says are 7A pistons and Rods the same? Can these be used instead of my pitted 3B ones, Wab thinks it's just the rings which are different, this would save me a fortune if it's ok!
    Cheers

Think the rods are the same.
Unfortunately the piston are bigger bore for a start (82.5mm vs 81mm), have different compression height (increasing compression ratio), probably different construction and material(cast rather than forged).

No, 7A pistons have a higher compression ratio, there basically flat top with no recess. 10.3:1 vs 9.3:1. They are also a wider bore, i think there 82mm vs 81mm on the s2.

Rods are also different, not as strong as S2 items.

I have an AAN bottom end which I was going to put rods into.
What is the problem with your bottom end?
I am going to rebuild the AAN anyway so I could do you an exchange and re-build yours instead.
