I had the same problem as GT500 with my cq20v. Large bumps would kill the engine, turned out it was the elecy part of the ignition switch. If you wiggle the key in the ignition lock does it cut out?
Fuel pump will be a soft cut, i my car runs for 30secs or so with the fuel pump unplugged before it splutters and dies.
I'm frightend to "wiggle" it too hard at the moment, in case it is that and It won't restart. May be worth getting one anyway if it's quite common.
Does anyone know the exact part required here? Is it just part of the barrel - part No if possible?
Another good suggestion that I would NEVER have thought of - Cheers.

Classic S2 Avant billboard ad - "My other car's a Porsche, but today I'm in a hurry"
I had this exact problem it started on a motorway aswell
It was the MAF the connecton for the power 2 the circit board was broken and would sometimes move and would lose complete power for a couple of secs
Just 2 check with the engine running wiggle the connecter 2 the MAF pull up and down see if the revs drop or nething
I temporaraly repaired it by removing the panel on the top of it heating the gel slightly and suck it out then soldered it back 2 the board worked for a couple of weeks but the gel gets everywhere and messes up the solder
The engine(3B/RR) has developed a strange hiccup around 2000 RPM. For example when just cruising in 4th/5th with almost no throttle input, there is sometimes a sudden "jolt" in the drivetrain. Strong enough to provoke the famous quattro drivetrain thud. Which may indicate some sort of misfire or cutoff.
My instinctive reaction is to dip the clutch, no problems then. No problems on hard acceleration either, but somewhat unstable on idle.
I guess it could be the ISV or lambda. Or perhaps the plugs. The car has been "idling" a lot the past year because of restoration, in an out of garage & so on.
BTW it only happens when engine is warm, usually after some full throttle blasts!
