Nikasil liners and Total Seal plasma-sprayed rings?

I was reading the Performance Ford who had an interview with Julian Godfrey. At some point in the article Julian was telling PF that with the use of Nikasil liners the 700+ BHP Cossie engines now lasted for 4-5 Rallycross seasons, while before this it was only a couple of Rallycross races! He also mentioned he now used Total Seal plasma-sprayed rings that withstand the heat and even detonation much better.

So I was wondering if there are Audi tuners or drivers who used this technology since 500 BHP seems to be average today?

Ps I am not going to rebuild the engine. but if it is ever needed these are easy to do right away...

Liners would be great if Audi blocks did have separate liners at all....

As for rings that can withstand detonation, oh well, I prefer tuning cars so they never detonate or ping rather than rely on some fancy piston rings...

As far as I know Cossie don't have liners too. So they probably do modifications in order to make them fit...

As for the rings. Julian pointed out that they can cope much better with boost and heat then standard chromoloy rings. And to add force to his comment he mentioned that even with detonation they withstand...

I understand that on any road car you would prefer to keep things on the safe side. But in Rallycross (or any other motorsport) they don't have that luxury. They will do whatever is needed to be number one! So they get the highest power and torque possible (close to knock I assume) combined with the best throttle respons. That is why compression ratio is a high as possible, electronics are the newest they can get, ALS is at max attack and turbo is chosen to make the most of the 45 mm restrictor...

Ive heard that total seal rings have a tendency to blow by oil when the motor is off boost. Is this true or is it a myth ?

not true, If you had a look at how they work you wouldn't even think of an oil issue.

They look extactly the same as normal rings just the top ring is total seal. its in two pieces, like two rings in one groove, the gaps are opposite each other, so they can move..
Hope you get what I mean...

I have found some article about these rings:

It is rather technical (too technical for me), it also says that there need to be modifications made en lightweigt oil must me used...
