turbo timmer / after run

Need some advice / help if any one would please.
(have spent some time reading back threads)

My 1991 3b ever since i have had it 6ish months.
Has got to 90-95degs and the fan kicks in at fully speed again on the plus side of 100degs.
When i turn the car off and its really hot ie 100+ i dont get a fan kick in or the afterun i think.

BUT when i do turn the car off at 100+ the car will not turn off (**** my self the first time it happend) Any how when i shut the drivers door the engine will shut off. I can see that some wires have been played with under the drivers side shelf. It looks quite professional

Has any one seen this before???

JAmes, that doesn't sound good. If you can, find somewhere really quiet, swithc the car off and then flick the key until the electrics come on. You should here a quiet whine for 5 secs then it goes off. If that happens then at least the after-run pump is 'live', i.e. is working at that point at least. if nothing happens then i'd guess you need to get someone to check its condition and the wiring to it.

You should also be able to feel a small vibration on the fat hose going to the top of the main rad when the pump runs after a hot run - beware the pipe will naturally be bloody hot mind....

As for the temps, fan kicks in on mine at just a nudge over 90degs on stage one (i think the 3b has 2 or possibly 3 stages) I have only ever heard my second stage fan speed when in really hot conditions and running the aircon too. So sounds like you need to check that the fan switch is working. I'd check all the wiring to the fan as a failure/short there can fry the fuse box as i found to my cost a few years ago...

That whole door shut/car on business is defo not right, find a trusted mechanic I think sharpish!!!

i have the 5sec quite buzz and the waterhose vibrates, so i just have a stupid turbo timmer. God i would love to spend five mins in a room with the chav that put it in.
