I know there is a limit somewhere in the amount of air that is enable to flow trough the MAF and still enable is to show the right output. There is a place where the output is max ... and more air will flow but MAF still will be in max
On our forum, our member has a project 500+ KM he uses Sport Quattro maf ...

what do You mean by this ? I know that is possible to modify the signal by giving a bigger radius of the MAF and using the same sensor. Did anybody try that ?
The limit on an S2/RS2 MAF is at around 450 HP (or KM, though for me KM means KiloMeters as in distances). Mark Halligan has run his S2 at around 420-430HP for a few months and he hasn't had a single MAF problem yet, so this makes sense. I'm saying 420-430 because 393 on a dyno with tiny fans and on a 28°C day means 420+ HP on the street.
Fitting the stock air mass measurement device inside a bigger tube doesn't help because the air mass measurement will be messed up and this will absolutely require real-time tuning in order to make sure everything is ok.
Hope this helps,
Mihnea

This is grate news for me ... that is about the HP level we want to acchive

After we will get to the point where we whave 420-430HP we will have to change the stock rs2 parts to some forged ones ... and we will incude standalonne comp to this ... than real-time tuning will be posible ...
... is there a way to get sportquattro MAF ? what would be the cost ? :eek2:
Hope this helps,
Mihnea
Helps a lot ! Thank's very mutch ...
we will do tuning on friday ... I will post some info on the forum
Ricardo already bought one of this SQ MAF, but we don't know the correct adresses of the pin on the MAF plug. We know that they are different from the RS2 stock unit, but we don't know how to make the right connection.
The SportQuattro MAF is part number: 035 133 471 AC, It retails at: £639.60 + VAT (approx. 933 Є :eek2: )
I think the same MAF is also used with a few other cars too, Porsche 928 being one of them, so it could probably be obtained a lot cheaper than this.
But the problem is connection, does anyone here know how to do it.
I know it has been done before as there are references to it over on the 20valve Kruemmer list, is it a simple wiring issue or does the software (Motronic) need changing .
My Bosch PC at work will tell me what other vehicles that MAF was fitted to if I could get the BOSCH part number. Then I can get wiring diagram for that car to see where the wires go etc. If thats any help?

Audi S2 - 07k engine project aiming for 800ps
Audi B5 RS4 645ps 911nm
Right had a look for the diagrams etc and also found out what other cars it was fitted to.
3 cars have used this MAF........
Audi Sport Quattro
BMW M5 3.6 V12 1988-1994
Porsche 928 4.7,5.0 and 5.4
Now the BMW used two of these little beasts, but when it come to wiring diagrams, there is very little info i can lay my hands on, but from what I can make out, the wiring is the same, it just uses term. 6 as an extra earth.
