I used these guides to remove the rad the first time i did it about 2 1/2 years ago

Change you thermostat whilst you at it.


You got aircon though (same as me) get somebody to help you whilst taking it out makes it damn site easier, i had too change the thermostat last weekend on my Avant and you need to manipulate both rad and condensor to get the rad out.

Get a Behr rad from GSF same as OEM search for the forum famous Behr thread by myself.

I've got an original rad that just needs the bleed valve housing sealing back up if you want it, I changed mine about 5 weeks ago, took 2 hours on my own so not that bad!

Its the original metal case one.

Just spoke to an inside contact about this.

It turns out that ALL the rads are from china, that’s where nissens and behr get em from …infact the same factory!

More interestingly, are that the ends of the rads are made in brazil or India, and shipped to china….

Theres been issues with the India batch of end tanks.......................

lol i'd have the Behr rad over the Nissen metal one any day of the week.

If you consider these OEM rads are 10 years and over before failing thats not a bad life cycle.

Did you ask if it was the Nissen or the Behr one when you ordered it?
