  • centre hole on a flywheel

hi all in looking at having my flywheel lightened and balanced has its a 7a one. i think iv found somewhere to do it but they need to know the size of the hole where the centre bearing is but do not want to remove the engine until i can be sure if they can do it any help would greatly appreciated

Are you replacing the bearing ? Do you need the size of the hole of the bearing or the size of the flywheel with bearing removed ? I've got a 7A flywheel lying around and can measure.

When I changed mine I had to get a smaller needle bearing for the flywheel. They were easy to get hold of at the time but that was 5 years back

7A is the older style bearing, not the needle bearing. It's held in with a circlip. 034105276B.

For single mass flywheel 7a conversion on aby it is straight swap isn't it? I remembet on urs4 was straight swap with the correct pressure plate.

i used the original bearing. noissue swith mine.

i used all aby parts apart from a 3b sre clutch. removed the spacer and used the 16v 5speed bolts and some aby ones with a couple of washers on them.

been my daily for 6 months now after the vectra packed in. m60 carpark daily. other than 1 extremely toned leg all is well.
