S2 Coupe ABY OEM Engine mountings direction

I am replacing engine mountings on my S2 Coupe ABY with new OEM ones from Audi. Looking at both the new ones they have an arrow indicting the mounting direction.

Obviously I will be checking the ones that come off to see if they have the same markings. I think the ones on the car are original but I am not sure.

If they are and they have the same markings then there is no issues.

If the do not have any markings does anybody know which way the arrow should point.

I thought the ABY engine mounts were offset so can only fit one way

The mountings are different left vs right. One has studs in the other does not. I am sure that's for left and right as well as the part number difference.

If they only go one way then why did Audi put a big direction arrow on them?

Mikes2 You are correct looking at then the top bolt and the two fixing bolts are offset and the arrows are point in different directions, I am just checking what are the arrows are for.

I still think its a directional thing. Why put an arrow on if they can only go on one way!!!

Even part number for the right and odd for the left. Normally arrows are for direction of travel. I wouldn't be too concerned about the arrows since you can only fit them one way

At my local Audi dealer today they said they don't know, the car is so old they have nobody who has worked on them that could advise. They said just mark the one coming out and compare.
