    knock sensors will defiantly pull boost if they are not working properly. There are two,but it only takes one to go bad, and they don't always log a code. at least that was my experience.
    When I first got my 3b s2 it would not perform like my s6.
    I chased the problem for ages ,changing one thing after another, and swapping parts over from both cars .
    Audi had it, and said it was the turbo, as there was no fault codes logged.
    Someone on hear mentioned knock sensors ,so I changed the front one first and it fixed the problem.
    Not saying it is your problem ,but don't rule them out.

      Is there any way of diagnosing these other than replacing and hoping for the best? Which I cant do atm as its awaiting parts for an alternator this week to go back together to be a runner again.

      Also from looking back at old errors I have pulled previously which used to keep returning until recently I have these;

      00561 - Mixture Adaptation
      13-10 - Adaptation Limit (Mul) Not Reached - Intermittent

      00537 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs
      08-10 - Please Register/Activate - Intermittent

      00513 - Shareware Version. To Decode all DTCs
      03-00 - Please Register/Activate

      If these give any clues?
