Hi, has anyone got either and be able to drop off to myself as my s2 is stationary without charging and in need of new stantons in the alternator or replacing out right. Thanks.

What are "stantons" ?. Anyway, most alternator parts, regulator, brushes etc are replaceable...

Possibly haven't spelt them correctly. But the coil/windings within have degraded. There are 3 separate ones in the alternator and none seem to be available from the usual sources.Comment

Are you sure it's the coils ?. Unless there are shorted turns or shorts to the frame, there's nothing else much to go wrong with them, though they do discolour with age. If the coils are burnt out, so will be the diodes and regulator. Are you sure the regulator, the bit ion the end with the brushes, is ok ?, as that's the usual failure, or the brushes are worn out. If it has a Bosch part number, a local Bosch agent should have exchange parts...Comment

At this point I'm going on what I was told, that it needed new stantons but they couldn't source them. What else has been changed already I don't know until Monday when I can ask what they have tried already. If it's something that should never die then what can damage them short of taking an impact or is it something that they could have damaged sorting the other parts?Comment
