My fuel pump is making a lot of noise but what is very strange, when I brake hard it goes very quiet for few seconds and then it’s noisy again.I removed fuel tank, filled up and shaked just like when I’m braking and I can see the little flap open up and shut again.Im wondering if this is when pump is going quiet for few seconds???Im thinking to remove the little flap and test it

I wouldn’t fiddle with the tank flap, if it’s opening and closing then it’s working properly. The flap opens fully when the fuel surges against it under braking, filling the collector that the pump sits in.

Is the pump noisy with a full tank, the (collector should also be full)
i woukd guess the pump/cradle is not mounted correctly and is vibrating making it noisier

              Thanks for that Alex.
im 100% sure cradle and basket is fitted correctly and this is not the source of the noise. Its really really strange .New pump was fitted and it was silent for some time and then it’s starting to be more and more noisy. The only time it’s quiet it’s when the fuel move in the tank
but like I said it’s definitely not the basket itself

id check the strainer on the bottom of the pump. if it has a t-bag like item on it too change that

that sound i have heard before on mine when i had the tank withn a blockage. the blockage was in the tbag and basically the debris moves. when fuel moves it breaks down the majar blockage. after a while it gathers due to the pump sucking it and restricts the pump

Still not this buddy.Tank is spotless clean and it’s Bosch 044 pump so it don’t have The t-bag filter.

it it sat low enough in the tank/basket. fuel surge forward would cover it. in my s2 i had a 044 and it was almost silent 100% of the time.same sound all the time. on the gravity fed b3 i can hear it but its only loud when the fuel is low or when tank was fubar

                      Likewise I can’t hear my 044 (fitted in-tank)
Pete can you post pics of your pump / basket and how you have it fitted?

                          if it helps i had

                          3b basket
                          rs2 connectors
                          044.
                          small cut in basket.
                          old faithful cable ties.

gotta say i would think a full tank of locomotion lotion would make noise go away.

I can hear my 044 too under all conditions. It's a lot louder if the back seats are down or no parcel shelf.

                              Thanks for that boys.
and montyrs2 ,i could except the fact that pump is loud,if that was like it all the time but the fact it’s going silent after braking tells me there is something wrong there and I just can’t leave it like that
